Het Fries Verzetsmuseum is genomineerd voor de Micheletti Award 2016 van de European Museum Acadamy. Deze award wordt uitgereikt aan Europeese musea die zich richten op hedendaagse Europese geschiedenis en wetenschappelijk, industrieel en sociaal erfgoed. Deze award is ingesteld door de Stichting Micheletti en Kenneth Hudson in 1996, voor de erkenning van uitmuntendheid voor musea die aan deze criteria voldoen. De bekendmaking is op 21 mei 2016.
